Way Beyond Bigness is a design-research project that studies the Mekong, Mississippi and Rhine river basins, with particular focus on multi-scaled, water-based infrastructural transformation. The book proposes a simple, adaptive framework that utilizes a three-part, integrative design-research methodology, structured as: Appreciate + Analyze, Speculate + Synthesize, and Collaborate + Catalyze. To do such, Way Beyond Bigness realigns watersheds and architecture across multiple: scales (site to river basin), disciplines (ecologists to economists), narratives (hyperbolic to pragmatic), and venues (academic to professional). The research critiques and recasts Oxford Dictionary's two very different definitions for a "watershed" 1) "An area or ridge of land that separates waters flowing to different rivers, basins, or seas" and 2) "An event or period marking a turning point in

Postoji li uopće jednoznačan i jednostavan odgovor? Pišući o obiteljskim odnosima i toksičnim prijateljstvima, kontroliranju tjeskobe i nošenju s negativnim emocijama, o ispitima, školi i obrazovanju, ljubavi i seksu, opsjednutosti savršenim izgledom i zdravom prehranom te ovisnosti o internetu, dr. Tara Porter obraća se izravno svojim čitateljicama jezikom punim topline, empatije i humora. Prijevod: Andrea Marić

Dva unikátne a bizarné ľudské osudy reprezentované dvoma šľachticmi – barónom Gregorom Friesenhofom (1840 – 1913) a kniežaťom Liviom Odescalchim (1863 – 1938). Pre jedného to bolo poľnohospodárstvo a meteorológia v tom najširšom zmysle slova, pre druhého skôr umenie, veda a politika. Mali však aj veľa spoločného. Obaja boli svojím pôvodom cudzincami, ich sídla delilo len čosi cez 10 kilometrov, stali sa bielymi vranami vo svojích rodinách, mnohí ich mali za bláznov a svojimi životnými osudmi si viackrát skrížili cesty. Nakoniec ich spojil vzťah k slovenskému prostrediu a k slovenskému národnopolitickému hnutiu. Friesenhof bol členom výboru Matice slovenskej, dopisovateľom do slovenskej tlače a dušou unikátneho hospodárskeho spolku s tolerantným postojom k slovenským roľníkom a ich záujmom.

The Great Lady of the Jerusalem temple was a defining presence in the religion of ancient Israel, yet she has been almost erased from the official biblical narrative. Only in recent years have her eclipse, and her shadowy enduring presence, been noticed and understood. In a diligent but daring and incisive approach to texts and material evidence, Margaret Barker begins a comprehensive restoration of the Lady's story. As Barker has shown in her earlier books, a drive to expel the Lady, revered as Mother of the Davidic kings, culminated in King Josiah's purge in 623 BCE. Moses and the Law became central for the post-exilic faithful; Enochic voices called them the apostate generation; and the Hebrew Scriptures were edited by their scribes. Memories remained, but have been identified as later additions. In this volume Barker shows the Lady and herSon
